My favorite cookie depends on the season, but my all-time favorite are what my mom calls “chocolate crinkles,” but that I often see labeled in bakeries as “opera cookies.” The Little Red Hen bakery on the Upper East Side makes a good one. 🙂
and ps: I wish I could make it to the BAKINGMAKESFRIENDS event – I know it will be tons of fun.
a chewy spiced gingersnap (challenge – figure out how to make the vegan ginger one from Peets…?)
Girl scout cookie Samoa. Boom.
Those peanut butter mugs with a hershey kiss on top.
A big thick dark chewy molasses cookie, gingersnap flavored but not crispy.
I think Snickerdoodles were my favorite when I was five, and I’m pretty sure they still are. I wish I could be there tonight!!
I will have to go with the chocolate cookies with dark chocolate chips & white chocolate chips. Yum.
gotta be the grotesque sugar cookie from paradise bakery in denver (made with actual shortening)
Chocolate brownie-not to dense-no frosting. w/an iced tea; served room temperature over 3 ice cubes. I prefer the last one in the pan with all the crumbs as a bonus.
oooh i would have liked to go to this – i have been reading along and liking your blog and i like maracuja and baking. next time give us some more notice! so my favorite cookie? hard to decide since i am very much a cookie person, but maybe chocolate chip pecan.
Moravian ginger cookies like I used to make with my Grandmother! I will never understand her secret to rolling them paper thin and baking to perfection, they are delicious! She always makes them in the weeks before Christmas and gives them as gifts, I swear she must make at least fifty batches. As a college student, I ALWAYS look forward to her sending me a few in the mail 🙂
Chocolate Chocolate Chunk.
Jam Thumbprints, rolled in coconut.
Chocolate Stout Cookies (with pretzels!)
😉
My favorite cookie is pumpkin chocolate chip… I think I’ll make a batch this weekend! 🙂
Since Josie already stole my favorite, I’ll have to go with a backup:
Located on West 74th Street and Amsterdam Avenue (that’s not in Brooklyn), Levain Bakery’s dark chocolate chocolate chip is probably my favorite, especially if it’s right out of the oven. Their walnut chocolate chip is a very close second.
My favorite cookie is straight up peanut butter. Maybe with some pb chips tossed in. 🙂
It is hard to pick just one! If I have a choice I will usually go for a good homemade brownie, lemon bar or Mexican wedding type cookie made with lots of butter and drenched in powdered sugar.
Snickerdoodles all the way.
My favorite cookies are from City Bakery and they no longer make/sell them! They are vanilla cookies that are so fragile if you hold them too tight, they will crumble in your hands! I miss them very much.
Oatmeal raisin. Boring, but tried and true.
polvorón- mexican wedding cookie
Those rainbow cookies that are all over the italian bakeries. They make me melt…
My favorite cookies are chocolate espresso cookies. Simply Desserts, a lovely little bakery in Seattle makes them. Chocolate, espresso and Seattle. What combination could be ‘simply’ better?
thanks all! comments are now closed and the winner will be announced tomorrow!
