liquored up Negroni jello

Liquored up Negroni jello…oops, wait. Silly me, I meant to say JELLO SHOTS!

Yes, I made jello shots. Yes, these are classy. Yes, they are what happens when a cocktail becomes friends with a jello shot.

The Negroni in jello form is just as boozy as the original cocktail but benefits from the addition of unflavored gelatin to make it FUN. Exciting kitchen project alert! Plus booze! Double score!

Liquored Up Negroni Jello
Makes about 24 1-inch squares

Adapted from Tasting Table, via Jelly Shot Test Kitchen

1 cup water
2-inch strip of orange zest
2 envelopes of gelatin
1/3 cup of gin
1/3 cup of Campari
1/3 cup of sweet vermouth

Combine the water and orange peel in a small saucepan. Sprinkle in the gelatin and heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the gelatin has dissolved. Remove from heat, discard the orange zest, and pour in the Campari, vermouth, and gin.

Pour into a loaf pan (I used as many shot glasses as I had first, then poured the rest into the pan) and chill until set. Unmold, slice into squares, and kick your party up a notch!
